Dave Alvin’s album “King Of California” uit 1994 wordt op 28 juni opnieuw uitgebracht. Op de geremasterde uitgebreide editie staat een niet eerder uitgebracht instrumentaal nummer, “Riverbed Rag”, en bonus materiaal.

Op het album staan covers zoals Tom Russell’s’ “Blue Wing”, Dallas singer-pianist Whistlin’ Alex Moore’s “West Texas Blues” (hernoemd “East Texas Blues”), Memphis Slim’s klassieker “Mother Earth,” en “What Am I Worth,” een George Jones song die hier als duet wordt uitgevoerd met Syd Straw.
