Woensdagavond 11 september zijn de winnaars van The Americana Honors & Awards bekendgemaakt. De topwinnaars zijn Brandi Carlile en John Prine. Brandi werd verkozen tot Artist Of The Year voor haar succes met “By The Way I Forgive You” en voor haar inspirerende werkzaamheden voor The Highwomen en haar co-productie voor Tanya Tucker’s “While I’m Livin’”.
John Prine werd verkozen tot Artist Of The Year voor zijn album “The Tree Of Forgiveness” en voor Song Of The Year voor “Summer’s End” dat hij samen met Pat McLaughlin schreef.
